Homer-like blob of glue on eBay

A blob of dried glue bearing a vague resemblance to Homer Simpson has attracted astonishing bids of almost £150,000.
London-based seller Christopher Herbert didn't know if the bizarre item would attract any interest when he put it on eBay.
Putting it up for sale out of fun, he set a starting price of just 99p - but bidding quickly rocketed with the auction not due to close on Monday.
"Well what can I say? Who would have thought Homer Gluehead would be the most valuable thing I own after my flat," he posted on eBay.
After finding the item whilst clearing out his stationery cupboard, Mr Herbert listed the object after his girlfriend noticed it shared some of Homer's distinctive features.
In his listing, Mr Herbert describes the peculiar item as the "missing piece" in any Simpsons fan's collection and states its origins as "made naturally by an overflowing tube of Uhu glue!"
The 36-year-old said: "I've never actually sold anything on eBay before, so I thought I'd just stick it on for a bit of a joke to be honest.
"I didn't think anyone would actually bid for an old bit of dried glue, even one that looks like Homer Simpson.
"I'm absolutely amazed and very very pleased and happy and wondering what to spend the money on."
what do you think?

I really can't see any resemblance to Homer Simpson whatsoever! There are some people in the world that have more money than sense!

If the auction is not due to close on Monday when is it due to close? Does anyone bother to read these articles before they are put up?
