Kim Wilde sings hit to commuters

Kim Wilde has become an unexpected online star after a video of her singing her 1981 hit Kids in America on a tube train went viral.

More than 1.2m people have viewed the clip, which was filmed after a Christmas night "out on the tiles" in London, on YouTube.

The singer was filmed wearing a pair of comedy reindeer antlers and serenading surprised passengers, accompanied on guitar by her brother Ricky.

The pair were making their way home from a Christmas party at Magic FM, where she works as a DJ, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Kim, the daughter of 1950s' rocker Marty Wilde, tweeted: "Truly, I am overwhelmed and confused at such a huge reaction to my night out on the tiles. Making me giggle a LOT."

The six-minute clip also included a version of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, a song she recorded with comedian Mel Smith for Comic Relief.
