Lotto multi-millionaire returns to work

A Suffolk man who won a £148m Euromillions jackpot is becoming as famous for his down-to-earth attitude as his new found wealth.
Adrian Bayford, 41, has gone back to work at his musical instrument store in Haverhill, Suffolk despite becoming one of the richest men in the country.
One shopper said: "He was behind the counter and just seemed perfectly normal. He's obviously a nice guy.
"The shop seemed quite busy. Whether that's because they wanted to buy a guitar, or because they wanted to look at the lottery millionaire, I don't know."
The Bayfords have splashed out on a new car - a relatively modest £17,000 Ford Kuga 4x4 family car, reports the Daily Mail.
One local resident said: "It's a really nice car, very new and shiny, but not what you expect a multi-millionaire to own."
Mr Bayford's wife Gillian, 40, a hospital healthcare assistant, is planning to leave her job to spend more time with children Aimee, six, and Cameron, four.
The Bayfords won the second largest lottery jackpot in British history in August and celebrated with takeaway pizzas.
They are still living in the same four-bedroom detached house and when they went on holiday it was to share a caravan in Scotland with Gillian's parents.

The champagne must have gone to his head.

With unemployment as it is he should let someone who needs the money have the job. If it's his own business maybe he'll employ someone else as well. I hope so and good luck to them.

It is HIS shop.

if he isnt going to buy a gold bog and his own army then give it to me. That money is wasted on him.

lets hope they do lots of good with the money. they could transform the lives of so many needy, especially in the developing world.

Simon .
sod the deveoping word - he could do so much good HERE!

Roy E Millington
the developing world could hlp themselves by cutting down on family sizes and being peacefull

Derek Porter
I respect him for his attitude. So many "Winners" just go berserk and start wasting money in reckless ways.

Mike Williams
so by sitting on his money and not filtering it back into the economy he is being admirable? cool.

The national lottery organisers should take a serious look at the size of the prizes they are paying out and reduce the top amounts, and spread it to the lower payouts, the top prize is too big and more people would benefit lower down the list.

Stuart Harley
...yes Andy, I live in a third world country now and I could do with a nice big handout !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's the point of winning £148 million if you're not going to do anything constructive with it? If that's their attitude then the only person who'll win in the long run is the taxman who will take 40% back in inheritance tax when they die!

He sounds like a good egg and I suppose it's up to him what he does with his cash. Apparently they were going to help out significantly a good few friends - lucky them! I wish I was one of them right now...
