Mad dash on wrong carriageway

A driver has been caught on camera hurtling the wrong way down a dual carriageway forcing terrified motorists to swerve out the way.

Shocking footage of the 70mph incident was captured by motorists travelling on the opposite carriageway.

It shows the driver, who is now being hunted by police, motoring straight at traffic while speeding up the road from Kilmarnock to Glasgow.

Two friends travelling to Glasgow captured the incident on a mobile phone after spotting the Renault driver tearing along the rain-soaked dual carriageway.

One said: "Suddenly we spotted this guy tearing past us - on the opposite side of the carriageway.

"My pal got his phone out and started filming him. We couldn't believe what we were seeing.

"Cars coming towards him were scattering all over the road, flashing their lights and blasting horns. But he didn't seem too bothered.

"We beeped the horn and put the window down but all he did was look over and wave, then speed up."

what do you think?

He needs finding and sentencing to cleaning up the roads in Kilmarnock after every road accident for a year. Including any fatals!

I, personally, wouldn't want to accuse nobody of nothin' after viewin' someone's car drivin' along the wrong side of a dual carriageway before knowin' the full facts surroundin' the ... escapade. I've spent somethin' like ... 30 years drivin' on Great British roads and I have learned to not automatically assume ... anything. For instance, there are numerous reasons and causes of a car travelling in the wrong direction. One reason is, missing, damaged or non-functioning or misplaced sign posts or lights. Another reason could be vandalised road construction notices. Bad weather conditions or even good weather conditions. How many times has the sky been so bright that you people have been unable to see the road? We don't know the entire facts?

I think after the amount of time and the number of cars that were swerving to avoid him there would be no excuse to continue down the road. The people who filmed this also said they tooted their horn and he just looked over and waved. I wonder what the full facts for that were.

And another reason is plain lunacy.
