A Polish man has set a new world record - by jumping his bicycle up the stairs to the 100th floor of Shanghai's tallest building.

Krystian Herba overcame 2,754 stairs to reach the 474-meter high observatory of the 492-meter-high Shanghai World Financial Center in 1 hour, 21 minutes and 53 seconds.

He was aiming to break the record he set last year when he hopped up 91 floors and 2,040 stairs at the tallest hotel in the world, the Rose Rayhaan by Rotana in Dubai.

During his ascent in Shanghai, neither Herba's hands nor feet touched the ground and there was no seat on the bicycle for him to rest on.

The 31-year-old athlete has taken on a host of tall buildings, including some of the highest skyscrapers in Poland, Austria and Germany, in his niche sport.
