Man dived in chute to escape girlfriend

A cowardly boyfriend got stuck in a rubbish chute when he tried to flee his girlfriend during a blistering row.

The 32-year-old had run from the couple's eighth floor apartment in Tyumen, Russia, and hurled himself into the chute with his partner hot on his heels.

But the man - who has not been named by police to spare his blushes - found himself trapped after just three floors and had to yell for help.

Fire service spokeswoman Elena Tretiyachenko said: "An eyewitness reported that there was a man in the chute.

"The rescuers crew found a man, who was stuck at the fifth floor, in the garbage disposal."
