Pier collapses in prom night mishap

A group of teenagers who posed for photographs on a wooden pier ahead of their prom night got a sudden soaking.

The pier collapsed just as the pictures were being taken at Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

The youngsters, who had spent hours getting ready for their big night, were plunged into the water.

Soaking wet, the girls and guys were pulled from the lake and rushed back home to try and repair the damage.

They blew an electricity circuit in one house as so many were using hair dryers on their clothes.

"We're laughing about it now and it's hilarious, and I'm sure my kids will laugh at it. It'll be remembered a long time," said one of the teens.
