Probe into police dog's statement

Statement /Twitter

Police officers in the West Midlands could be in the dog house after a police dog apparently filed a witness statement.

The brief statement, on behalf of police dog Peach, read: "I chase him. I bite him. Bad man. He tasty. Good boy. Good boy Peach."

The 'statement' was signed at the bottom with a print of the Alsatian's pawmark.

It was reportedly written in response to a barrage of requests from the Crown Prosecution Service for an account from PC Peach on a crime, the Daily Mail reports.

Officers are said to have become frustrated after they continually told the CPS that Peach was a dog.

But it seems the joke report may have consequences as the force is now being investigated.

"The matter will be investigated," DCI Julian Harper, from West Midlands Police, told Huffington Post.

Oh please!! It's a brilliant bit of humour. Something this country is sadly lacking in nowadays. Instead of an investigation (wasting who alone knows how much money) give him a belly rub and a bone! Good boy P.C. Peach, good boy.

It would be more appropriate to investigate the dunderheads at the CPS.

It only takes one wag in the Police to start a tale like this. I bet he didn't pawse for even a minute before issung the dogument. But just wait until his disciplinary hearing. There may be a problem with his bona fidos. He may be suspended, in which case he could end up sitting at home with a Beaune. Very agreeable. Realistically he'll probably be sent out to collar some villains, assuming he has at least one lead.

Brilliant! Real laugh out loud stuff. In view of all the depressing news elsewhere, I'd rather read the Quirky news and enjoy the comments.

Hope the statement was written slowly for the CPS do have a reputation of stupidity to live up to - yes they will call the dog to give evidence am sure of that

Cripes, they only posted this in the police station for a laugh - it's not as if it reached court. Despite asking for this report numerous times, no-one at the CPS presumably knew what "he's a police DOG" meant, so they continued to request it. How could anyone fail to just see the funny side of this? There must be spare cash to throw at something before the end of the financial year, so what better than some sort of silly investigation?

The people in charge who kept asking for the dog's reports should be investigated, not the officers who had had enough.

Hilarious response by the police officers, total waste of time and money now that they are being investigated. Where has the humour gone? The CPS need to pull their finger out and focus on real crime and real work and not be so pathetic!
