Skier's accidental mammoth jump

A video of a skier accidentally performing a massive jump in Canada has become an online hit.

Thousands of people have watched the clip of the ski jump on Mammoth Mountain, California.

The video, which was posted on YouTube by Zane Enders, shows a skier tearing down the slopes.

He appears to be attempting a smaller jump, but gets his angles wrong and the momentum sends him flying high into the air.

The jump was captured on camera by his shocked friend, who shouted "Oh my God!" as the skier flailed his arms around for balance.

Luckily, the inadvertent daredevil landed the jump safely at the bottom of the hill and stayed on his feet, to cheers from fellow skiers.
