A photographer has recreated the famous Royal Wedding balcony kiss between Prince William and Kate Middleton - using Star Wars stormtroopers.

Canadian David Eger, 30, specialises in using plastic Star Wars figures to recreate iconic scenes from history and popular culture.

He has also produced versions of the 1932 image of New York workers taking lunch on a skyscraper girder, US soldiers raising the flag on Iwo Jima and Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper.

He has also used Star Wars figures to recreate movie posters and scenes including Scarface, Pretty Woman, Terminator 2 and Grease.

While his toy figure tribute to the Beatles features album covers including Abbey Road and Let it Be, with Obi-Wan Kenobi as John Lennon and Luke Skywalker as Paul McCartney.

Mr Eger, a 30-year-old married art and photography teacher from Milton, Ontario, can take a full working day to set-up and photograph a scene.

He said: "I have been an avid Star Wars fan and collector ever since I can remember. Watching the original trilogy in the back room my aunt's house is something I will not soon forget."
