Stoned girl mistook pylon for bridge

A girl had to be rescued when she climbed a 40ft electricity pylon thinking it was a bridge after smoking super-strength cannabis.
Horrified locals spotted the 21-year-old - from Zlin, Czech Republic - apparently trying to cross a river and dialed 999.
Police spokesman Jan Macalikova said: "It was a nightmare because she was very much under the influence of drugs and wasn't making much sense.
"She was convinced, though, that the pylon was a bridge across the Morava river."
Drugs counsellors and police eventually persuaded her to come down after two hours on the pylon.
"She received treatment at hospital for her drugs consumption but was otherwise unhurt. She's lucky she didn't get a new high - high voltage," added the police spokesman.
what do you think?

sorry, no way, the stronger you make cannabis the less likely you are to climb a pylon. there had to be more to it than cannabis. having "experience" in the matter leads me to believe that this is utter tripe, the more I smoked the less i felt like getting out of my chair, I wouldnt suddent climb up a massive pylon thinking it was a bridge, i'd more likely stumble to the kitchen and try to find some snacks.

i guess it effects everyone differently. some people are known to have psycotic breaks just from a bit of puff (of course they tend to have mental health issues in the first place) just sayin'

Mike Williams
I dont know about that, the only cases I have come across including pshycological effects of using marijuana are caused by long term use. a quick puff would make you a little giggly perhaps, maybe want to eat a lot of cake, giggle at things that just arent funny like the direct line ads, but I just done see it making people climb pylons. Especially as it is a muscle relaxant!

Rhys Sage
I'm suspicious of this one. Most people that I've observed on Cannabis get silly and wobbly and would be highly unlikely to be able to climb anything without falling down in a giggling fit.

Lynn Spencer
I agree Rhys, it is a little suspicious !

Nicola Anderson
il have what shes having

katie

OK I just read the original article which is a little bit "in Czech" but google translate helped. There was no mention of cannabis. Only "drugs". And the girl was apparently rather emotional over relationship problems hence her being somewhat... irrational. So basically we are all being spoonfed some garbled chinese whispers by the press which has an anti cannabis agenda - I suppose they figured that the people in favour if cannabis would be too stoned to go and look it up and those against cannabis would simply believe what they are fed. Four hours of blazing and you will not end up at the top of a pylon, you will more likely be face down on the floor (still giggling) surrounded by crumbs with a load of rizlas stuck to your face having completed every computer game you own. nothing more. Here is the source - http://www.policie.cz/clanek/vyjednavac-nejhorsi-vyjednavani-v-zivote.aspx - i trust you know how to use google translate.

Mike Williams
there is also no mention of 'drugs councellors' (they were police negotiators' nor the totally inappropriate 'high voltage' quip. she was taken into care as she was suicidal over her relationship trouble. every newspaper has reported this as above. A good example of not letting the truth get in the way of an opportunity to spread utter bull about drugs.

Utter crap

seppe pelckmans
this should not be on the internet, have you any idea how stupid most people are? there will always be people who believe this crap and so there will be more people who treat us like junkies when we light up our joint. this writer must have had some bad experiences with stoners but i seriously doubt that, the writer probably knows nothing about drugs so he just mentioned the first thing that came up in his head, unbelievable!

movvi
I agree wholeheartedly!

movvi
Rubbish. What sort of hallucinogenic weed was she smoking?!
