Teacher quits to become a pole dancer
A Hull primary school teacher has given up her day job to become a professional pole dancer.
Emma Nicholson first started dancing seven years ago and has now decided to concentrate on it full-time, reports The Sun.
But despite the unusual career swap, the 36-year-old said those at her old school had been fully supportive of her decision.
And she claimed that the unusual hobby helped open the minds of her ex-pupils.
She said: "When you're influencing young people, it's dangerous to stereotype as you can't teach them there's only one type of person."
Miss Nicholson, who set up her own pole dancing studio five years ago, is now competing at national level in the British Pole Superstars Championship.
And as well as being backed by colleagues from her old school, the fitness fanatic says her boyfriend, Daniel Woodhouse, is fully supporting her too.
"This is it now. Until I can't get my leg over my head anymore," she said.
