Teacher turns star lingerie model

A Birmingham teacher has turned her pupils' heads - by winning a contest to be a lingerie firm's star model.

Psychology teacher Laura Butler, 26, was picked by Curvy Kate to be the firm's new model for its plus-size lingerie.

She is now juggling her modelling work with finishing her studies for a teaching degree at university, reports The Mirror.

Ms Butler, who already teaches psychology to International Baccalaureate and A-Level students, says her family, friends and even pupils are right behind her.

"The satisfaction of modelling is different to the satisfaction I get from teaching as it's something I do for me," she said.

"Teaching is something I do because I am good at it and love helping the students.

"Modelling makes your confidence soar and gives you something to talk about when you are older."

what do you think?

with a background as a lingerie model she's never going to be taken seriously as a teacher. It's a sad relection on out society but it's the reality.

Why is it in decline? She is very highly qualified and obviously superb at herjobso why do you say that? is she not entitled to do part time work for fun? Ah, just a minute, you probably don't have fun in your life....so go out and have some and then you won't be such a saddo!!

She's a highly educated and attractive young lady who has widened employment possibilities. She's unlikely to find herself unemployed in the near future due to her enterprising attitude. Why don't you sanctimoneous whingers get a life.

Well that's one way to lower truancy rates for her classes. Wouldn't count on the pupils paying any attention to what she's saying though!

quote " her family, friends and even pupils are right behind her". Probably just as nice a view from behind as from the front.

This could throw a shadow over her teaching career but the money earned is likely to finance a better career.

A lovely young lady taking the opportunity to earn some extra money; I wish her well ... and at least she's not required to be anorexic. However, I do hope she's not intending to teach english, because it's 'different from' not 'different to' (not that you would know this by listening to broadcasters nowadays, because good english no longer seems to have any relevance, which I think is a pity).
