The world's narrowest house?

A new house that will be less than four feet (120cm) wide at its broadest point is set to be one of the thinnest ever built.

Architect Jakub Szczesny's project in Warsaw, Poland, will be only 2ft 4ins (71cm) wide at is narrowest point.

He says living in the house, being built as an art installation, will require "spaceship-like adaptability".

The project is designed to stimulate its inhabitants with the feeling of being restricted by their surroundings.

The house will be inhabited first by Israeli writer Edgar Keret and later on by other artists - for a few days or weeks at a time.

Mr Szczesny said: "It's the most challenging project I ever had... the living conditions in it will require a spaceship-like adaptability".

The house is due to open on October 20, and will be inhabited throughout the winter.
