Toddler rescued from window balcony

Firefighters came to the rescue after a three-year-old boy managed to get himself stuck on the outside of a third floor window.

The little lad climbed out of the window after he was left home alone in Shilin, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Passers-by raised the alarm after spotting that the boy was stuck and was hanging on to the window balcony.

He had to hang on for half an hour while waiting for rescuers to arrive and became increasingly frantic.

But help eventually arrived and the boy was rescued after one fireman was winched down from the roof of the building.

Meanwhile, his father had arrived back home and helped to keep his son calm.
