Twilight dominates 'worst movie' awards

The final instalment of the Twilight saga has dominated the shortlist for this year's Razzie awards for the worst movies of 2012.

Despite being a box office smash, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 has 11 nominations in 10 categories, including worst film and worst sequel.

Its stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are also listed in the "worst screen couple" category.

The previous three Twilight films have all been nominated for Razzie awards, but have not come away with any of the major prizes.

However, it is thought the annual awards bash has been waiting for the finale to heap its scorn on the franchise - in the way the Oscars awarded the final Lord Of The Rings film with best picture.

"That's the analogy we're making, that this is the Razzies' flipside," said Razzies founder John Wilson.

"This is our equivalent to The Lord of the Rings. It's our members' last chance to razz Twilight."

Comedian Adam Sandler won two Razzies last year, for playing a twin brother and sister in Jack and Jill.

His latest film, bad-taste comedy That's My Boy, picked up eight nominations in this year's shortlist.

Critically-reviled blockbuster Battleship received seven nominations, including worst supporting actress for pop star Rihanna.

Hahaha, good! The only reason it was a box office smash was because the legions of devoted fangirls who pray to "R-Patz" before they go to bed all ran out to watch it. And hold on a moment, is that Kristen Stewart almost cracking a smile?

Seen three of them - the most awful films i've ever seen, without a shadow of a doubt. Quite a disturbing theme too - a young girl gives up on life to become one of the undead so that she can be with her undead boyfriend! Taking teenage devotion a bit to far for me!

Worst movie ever made! That's the award it should be given, and the whole series of them. Also is every one of them that miserable in real life??
