Woman drives 190 miles and texts while asleep
A woman from New Zealand drove almost 200 miles while asleep at the wheel and even sent text messages from her mobile phone.
The police were alerted in the middle of the night by a friend concerned the woman had driven after taking sleeping medication, reports the Mirror.
Police tracked the driver using her phone and discovered that she was sending text messages during her sleepy sojourn.
She was finally found in the driveway of her old house after five hours on the road.
The woman, who has no recollection of the 190-mile drive, was also found sleep-driving 10 months ago.
Senior sergeant Dave Litton said: "We have sought an urgent order forbidding her to drive and to seek medical advice on her suitability to remain holding her driver's licence."
