Woman sells cheating husband's stuff

A Canadian woman got her own back on her cheating husband - by holding a yard sale to sell his most prized possessions while he was away on a dirty weekend.
She advertised the sale, in White Rock, Vancouver, on free ad site Craigslist, reports the Times Colonist.
"Husband left us for a piece of trash, selling everything while he is gone this weekend with his floozie," posted the woman who did not want to be named.
Items up for grabs included the husband's favourite red leather reclining chair and "lots of tools he didn't have a clue how to use".
The woman's ad continued: "I want the house empty on Monday when he returns because that will be a shock for him to see.
"Don't come too early (like he did) because I will be thoroughly enjoying some wine with my girlfriends this evening as we clean out all this stuff and likely be nursing hangovers in the morning. So please speak softly to the ladies wearing the sunglasses."
The ad discouraged clothes-buyers, "as we will have already burned those in the driveway," but it did offer to let visitors see the pile of ashes.

Simple theft. It's illegal to sell someone else's possessions. It's kind of funny when someone tries to play karma, and it bites them back. She'll be much worse off now!

Kerry Carline
Hmmmm that coming from a man. I wander, have you by any chance had your things sold or ruined lol

Bob Longmire-Bowns
It's joint matrimonial property. As long as they are married she can sell it all with impunity.

This story is so old - I found a version of it in an English teacher's book (Cambridge University Press) published in the 1990s.

Jo Buckley
That's probably where this one got the idea from Leslie.

Kerry Carline

Really thought Ur Columnist would know how to spell Own Profession!!! "She advertised the sale, in White Rock, Vancouver, on free ad site Craigslist, reports the Times Colonist." wish the lady all the best avoiding court actions.

It's the paper - The Times Colonist - though I did check, to make sure! x

Any disgruntled wives thinking of doing the same let me know if your selling his fishing gear. Could be in the market for it at the right price.!!

movvi
Ha ha ha - I love the tone of her post - "Don't come too early (like he did)" is particularly amusing! A nice, subtle putdown! The flippant comment about the clothes burning also tickled me. Anyone disrespecting their husband or wife like that deserves a bit of a shock on returning home.
