Wrestler drags Lembit Opik into the ring
Former MP Lembit Opik was pulled into the ring by an 18-stone wrestler in his latest eccentric career move.
It happened after the Lib Dem stood up and accused wrestler Kade Callous of cheating during a bout in Welshpool, Wales.
The wrestler went into the crowd and grabbed the 46-year-old, dragging him into the ring.
Lembit was only rescued when Kade's opponent, a man in red trunks known to fans as Iestyn 'Welsh Dragon' Rees, dragged the wrestler away.
In an obviously staged move, Iestyn then suggested himself and Lembit take on Kade and a partner in a tag-team match in early June.
Accepting the challenge, Lembit shouted: "I'll do it because I don't want to see a cheat win in this place again."
Speaking afterwards, he said: "I imagine I'm the first MP to get inside a professional wrestling ring.
"I'm going to have to do a lot of training, I've got a lot to learn, I can only do my best."
