iPad survives being dropped from space

An amazing video shows an iPad being dropped to Earth from the edge of space - and apparently surviving intact.

The jaw-dropping clip was created by G-Form, a US firm which makes protective cases for the Apple product.

The 2m 20s clip sees the tablet attached to a high-altitude weather balloon which carried it 100,000ft up.

When the balloon bursts, the tablet freefalls back to Earth where it crashlands on a rocky hillside in the Nevada desert.

The entire journey was captured on a video attached to the balloon. Amazingly, the iPad appears to be fully-functioning after landing.

Rhode Island-based company G-Form used one of their $4.95 Extreme Edge cases for the demonstration.

The company say their product is made from Reactive Protection Technology and finished with a military grade ballistic fabric.
