Corrie bad lad returns

Terry Duckworth

Coronation Street's bad egg, Terry Duckworth, is set to make an explosive return to the cobbles.

A day after EastEnders' bosses announced the return of Letitia Dean to the soap as feisty Sharon Watts, Corrie big wigs have followed suit by announcing the return of Nigel Pivaro as cobbles bad dad Terry Duckworth.

The Weatherfield villain, who has previously broken the hearts and minds of plenty of Coronation Street residents, was last seen at his on-screen mum Vera Duckworth's funeral four years ago, and has no idea that son Tommy (played by Chris Fountain) is now residing in his old stomping ground.

Viewers will see Terry reunited with son Tommy - but whether they'll be rushing in for one big man hug remains to be seen.

Speaking about Terry's return, a soap snitch revealed: "His explosive return will cause shock waves with the residents when his reason for returning is revealed." Yikes.

Meanwhile, Nigel is thrilled to be making a soap comeback, telling The Sun: "With so many different characters and set-ups it will present Terry with a completely different landscape to the one he knew before.

"I'm going to enjoy playing Terry and rediscovering his roots, the changes that have taken place and his reaction to them."

As for show producer Phil Collinson, he squealed: "I'm very excited to welcome arch villain Terry Duckworth back. I grew up with him ducking and diving and breaking his parents' hearts... This time though, he'll not only be blighting the life of Tommy, but the lives of every Corrie resident."

Ooooh, we can't wait...

Another soap star skint. How come they all all leave to do "OTHER THINGS" like advertising beans or "VOICE OVER" work but when they realise it dont pay as well as corrie, enders, emmerdale etc. the producers/directors etc. chuck shed loads of money at em and beg em to come back.

This family stopped watching Coronation street when John Stape jumped off the roof of the hospital six floor up, landed on concrete and then walked away, believable I think not, sadly thats the sort of tripe that this once great soap is now dishing out.

Yep, the whole long drawn out John Stape story line was absolutely ridiculous.
