Sunita in the slammer

Corrie's Sunita Alahan has never been much of a wildchild - but the mum-of-two is about to be arrested after a drinking session gets very messy. The drama unfolds after Sunita, played by Shobna Gulati, goes for a drink at the Bistro with friend Stella Price (Michelle Collins) to discuss her ailing marriage to mini-mart mogul Dev (Jimmi Harkishin).
But Sunita has one drink too many and, as the women set off for home, she jumps on the bonnet of a car - just as its owner appears. The furious owner calls the police, who promptly arrest Sunita for a breach of the peace and take her back to the station.
When cold-hearted Dev hears about his wife's misdemeanour, he doesn't lift a finger to help her. "She's finally lost the plot," he tells anyone who'll listen. "A long, cold night in the slammer will teach her a valuable lesson."
It was recently revealed that Sunita will embark on an affair with Stella's partner's Karl Munro (John Michie) - and with a husband like Dev, who can blame her?
