Not content with sending Heather to an early grave, bad boy Ben now sets about framing Jay for the murder, using his one-time friend's blood-stained hoodie as "evidence". But when Phil gets wind of his son's evil plan, he frogmarches Ben to the allotments and sets light to the garment.

Unfortunately, Phil doesn't do a very good job of destroying the incriminating item, and when Patrick stumbles across the hoodie's charred remains he reports his find to the police. It isn't long before the boys in blue arrive in Albert Square, looking for anyone who owned one of the distinctive tops, which were specially made for Andrew's stag do.

Elsewhere, Mandy and Ian's relationship hits the rocks when Ian fails to stand up for his fiancée during a row at the Vic. An angry Mandy stomps off home, but when Ian eventually follows, he finds the house empty and her engagement ring on the table. Oh dear.

In other news, Alfie takes action over his financial woes by putting prices up at the Vic and firing Jean.
