New Pope Francis I has been outed as a massive fan of Argentine side San Lorenzo.
Jorge Mario Bergoglio has received a flood of goodwill messages from around the world as he begins his first day at the helm of the Catholic Church.
And it's been revealed that the 76-year-old supports his hometown club and even has a membership card, which was tweeted by San Lorenzo, along with pictures of the Pope holding up the team's flag.
The 76-year-old "lives in a permanent state of suffering for San Lorenzo," according to Oscar Lucchini, who handed Bergoglio's membership card to him five years ago.
San Lorenzo could do with some divine intervention as they haven't clinched the Argentine title since 2007 and have won just once in five games this season.
