Adams and Spencer honoured

Tim Adams and Jim Spencer have been inducted onto the Rugby Football League's Roll of Honour to recognise their long service to the game.

Adams was honoured for his contribution as a club director with Sheffield Eagles and Huddersfield, as well as his work for the RFL Benevolent Fund, on which he serves as chairman.

Spencer has been a key figure in the RFL disciplinary process for more than 20 years, during which time he has served as chairman of the disciplinary committee and been a cornerstone of the legal support service given to the RFL.

RFL chief operating officer Ralph Rimmer said: "The important role that volunteers play in sport has captured the headlines since the Olympics and it is right and proper that the expertise, the energy and the time that Tim and Jim have invested in rugby league over many years is recognised in this way."
