Adams braced for hectic finish
Norwich City boss Neil Adams is bracing himself for a frenetic end to the summer transfer window, as he works on ins and outs.
There remains a desire to get fresh faces into Carrow Road, but there is also the fear that further star men may be lured away to pastures new.
Leroy Fer is the latest to be heavily linked with a move, with Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp admitting to holding an interest in the Dutch midfielder.
Adams is aware that speculation will continue to swirl and that the market will intensify as deadline day draws ever closer, but he is hoping to make it to the other side in a stronger position.
He said: \"I think it will hot up now. Premier League teams are getting back into the swing of things and that creates a knock-on effect which travels right down the leagues.
\"We expected it to be quiet over the last few weeks if I am honest but now the World Cup is done and dusted teams are starting to assemble squads and it usually has a filtering down effect.
\"There are 30-odd days left but what I would stress is it's also important that you don't wait until the end of those 30 days. We play the first game a week on Sunday so we have got to be as right as we can.
\"We've said we are not done and that will probably be triggered by outs. We know we need to strengthen so there could be one or two coming in but we also have to be ready to react if we lose players.\"
Adams added on Holland international Fer: \"The phone will be ringing all the time because we have such good players and Leroy Fer will be one.
\"People are going to want him. I hope Leroy Fer is wearing a yellow shirt on August 10. He has a few days off to go and enjoy his honeymoon and he is due to be back with us on August 4 which is the week leading up to Wolves and of course we hope he is with us beyond that.\"
