Adcocks march on in Birmingham
Chris and Gabby Adcock eased through to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles at the Yonex All England Open Championships.
The world number five pair brushed off Germany's Peter Kaesbauer and Isabel Herttrich 21-13 21-15 in 31 minutes at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
The Adcocks, however, could not reproduce the winning formula when it came to their other doubles competitions.
Chris Adcock and Andy Ellis were overpowered by the Chinese duo of Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan 21-12 21-10 while Gabby Adcock and Lauren Smith went down 21-17 21-14 to Indonesia's Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Rizki Amelia Pradipta.
English men's number one Rajiv Ouseph also went out in the second round in the singles, losing 21-15 21-10 to Kento Momota of Japan.
Chris Langridge and Peter Mills made an impressive start but ultimately found top seeds Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan too strong as they lost 8-21 21-17 21-14.
