Adkins won't expect favours

Reading boss Nigel Adkins knows he cannot expect any favours from Burnley on the final day of the season.

The Royals need a win to guarantee their place in the playoffs and host a Burnley side who have long since secured promotion.

But the Clarets showed they have not taken their eye off the ball by beating Ipswich on Saturday and Adkins predicts another tough encounter as Reading look to take a big step towards joining them in the Premier League.

"Burnley did very well when we played up at their place," he said. "We're facing a team who's just been promoted, they will come to our place and give us nothing. We've got to be right at it.

"The mindset has to be to win. We won our last home game, won on Saturday and showed we can come from behind.

"We'll work hard on the training ground, be right mentally and it's going to be a great day."
