Ainsworth: We must be ruthless
Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth admits his side need to start making the most of their chances after Newport eased to a 1-0 win.
The visitors controlled the first half and Mike Flynn's goal was just what they deserved and, despite not playing as well after the break, their lead was rarely threatened by the Chairboys.
Ainsworth said: "Once again we didn't take our chances although we didn't create enough, not like we have been doing lately.
"But the chances we did create, we need to take and I can think of three really good chances which we didn't convert.
"They've created two chances in the first half and they've scored one of them and that's been the difference.
"You'll get 25 games a season where there's nothing between the teams and that was one of them, although to be fair to Flynny he's finished it really well for their goal.
"We gave it a go in the second half but we didn't get the ball down and knock it around like we have been doing as there were a few off it.
"I didn't think Newport caused us too many problems but we never got the ball down and played around them and looked nervous in possession."
