Aird inspires Rangers victory
Rangers eased to a 3-0 victory over Stranraer at Ibrox on a day when the League One winners picked up the trophy.
Goals from Fraser Aird, Arnold Peralta and Dean Shiels secured a 33rd league win of the season for Ally McCoist's side.
The afternoon started with a poignant tribute to Sandy Jardine, who spent the vast majority of his career at Ibrox, following his untimely death on Thursday.
But the match took some time to get going as the home team peppered the Stranraer penalty area with aerial balls, with little effect.
The breakthrough finally came eight minutes before the break when Nicky Law slipped a quick pass on the deck to Aird and the winger stepped inside the box and rifled his shot inside the post.
Aird turned supplier when he played a weighted pass to Peralta and David Mitchell was beaten at his near post again with another crisp drive on the hour mark.
And Aird was involved again in the 66th minute when he crossed from the left flank for Shiels, who scored at the second attempt after Mitchell had saved his initial header.
The visitors survived further misery as Jon Daly and Kyle Hutton both hit the crossbar with chipped efforts in either half.
