Aiton set for Leeds debut

Paul Aiton will start at hooker for Leeds in their Heatshot Festive Challenge against his former club Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Aiton joined the Rhinos for an undisclosed fee back in November and will now face up to his former team mates in the traditional Festive fixture.

Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott has named a strong side including a new half-back partnership of Zak Hardaker and Liam Sutcliffe.

Ben Jones-Bishop will start at full back, almost exactly a year since he was diagnosed with a serious lung condition that ruled him out for the first half of the last campaign. Last season's Player of the Year runner up Joel Moon makes his second consecutive Boxing Day appearance whilst the Rhinos field a formidable pack.

Aiton will be joined in the front row by Ian Kirke and Ryan Bailey whilst Chris Clarkson, Brett Delaney and Mitch Achurch complete the forwards.

There is also a chance for fans to see the stars of the future with Thomas Minns and James Duckworth out to build on their growing reputations having debuted in Super League last season.

The only player in the starting thirteen who has not yet appeared in Super League is winger Ash Handley who had an impressive season with the Under 19s last season scoring 16 tries in 19 starts for the Academy Grand Final runners up.

Tickets are now on sale for the game which kicks-off at 1130. Members from both clubs having until 1pm on Christmas Eve to claim a 3 reduction on admission by pre-purchasing their ticket from either the Rhinos or Wakefield ticket offices.
