Alexander delighted with win
Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander was full of praise for his team following a comfortable 2-0 victory at York.
The visitors dominated proceedings from the start and took the lead through Gareth Evans before Jamille Matt pounced in the area in the second half to take the points back to Lancashire.
The manager also hailed his team's composure after they bounced back from two successive defeats to move up to third place in the table.
Alexander said: "I thought we were very good today and we deserved to get the points. We got the ball down from kick off and played some great football. We didn't overplay and we used our pace and played the right passes, which is good after our last performances.
"I thought we could have had more than the two goals today but York is a tough place to visit.
"The goal settled us down and we played well in the lead up to half-time. We could have had a couple more, and it was a big relief when the second came, because it was what we deserved.
"Three points and a clean sheet is brilliant but it was the way we did it. We didn't shut up shop and we worked well as a team from the front. We were composed and made the right decisions and that helped us win the game today."
