Alexander on sidelines
Lucy Alexander is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining fractures to her chin and jaw in a fall at Newcastle on Thursday.
Alexander was hurt when unseated from Milano Magic, trained by her father, Nick, at the eighth fence in the North Sea Logistics Novices' Handicap Chase.
The leading lady jumps rider was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for treatment to a cut on her chin, but agent Richard Hale confirmed subsequent X-rays revealed further damage.
He said: "They kept her in overnight as the X-rays showed she had a couple of fractures in her chin and jaw.
"They're not displaced so no operations are needed, but her jaw is very swollen and there's definitely a couple of fractures there.
"I don't know how long she will be out for at this stage."
