Andujar crashes in Copa Claro

Seventh seed Pablo Andujar was a first-round faller on a rain-delayed day at the Copa Claro in Buenos Aires.

After four hours of poor weather kept the players off, Spaniard Andujar was ousted by compatriot Albert Montanes despite winning the opening set and eventually lost 5-7 6-2 6-4.

Third seed Stanislas Wawrinka took just 58 minutes to ease past Paolo Lorenzi 6-3 6-3, saving five break points along the way.

Tommy Robredo, a winner here in 2009, had a similarly simple task against qualifier Gastao Elias, who was beaten 6-3 6-0.

Another qualifier, Julian Reister of Germany, did progress - sealing a 7-5 6-1 win over Argentinian Martin Alund.

There was some good news for the fans, though, with Buenos Aires native Leonardo Mayer scoring a 5-7 6-2 6-3 victory over Italy's Simone Bolelli.

Daniel Gimeno-Traver and Andrey Kuznetsov also booked their places in the next round, defeating Filippo Volandri and Dusan Lajovic respectively.
