Annacotty stars for Keighley

Martin Keighley's Annacotty jumped his rivals into submission in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The 12/1 chance responded positively to the application of first-time blinkers to land the Grade 1 that was formerly known as the Feltham.

The race is now named after the legendary five-time King George winner, who was in attendance, and he would've been proud of the winner's round of jumping, Annacotty even throwing in his only semblance of an error late in the piece just like the former Paul Nicholls-trained champion liked to do in his heyday.

However, the race was already in the bag by then, with Nicholls' Just A Par (8/13 favourite) beating a steady retreat as he failed to cope with the gallop.

Lucinda Russell's Green Flag (7/2) ran on for second with Third Intention third again, just like he was in the same contest last year.
