Anthony derails Spurs in NBA
The New York Knicks brought a halt to San Antonio's seven-game winning run in the NBA on Thursday night.
Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points as the Knicks beat the Spurs 100-83.
JR Smith added 20 points and Steve Novak 15, while Tyson Chandler had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Knicks, who won the fourth period 33-23 to pull away from their opponents.
Gary Neal led the Spurs from the bench with 12 points, while star pair Tim Duncan and Tony Parker managed just 11 apiece.
In the day's other game, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 101-97, Alexey Shved and Jose Barea leading six players in double figures with 17 points apiece.
