Gold Cup-winning trainer Tom Taaffe believes Argocat has a "live chance" in the Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in a fortnight's time.
The son of Montjeu has won twice from four starts over fences this term and was last seen running away with a Grade Two prize at Limerick on Boxing Day.
Kept off the track since to ensure he would head to Prestbury Park in top form, Argocat is around 16/1 for the Grade Two contest that opens day three of the Festival on March 14.
Taaffe said: "I think Argocat would be our main one for Cheltenham.
"We're looking at the Jewson for him at the moment.
"I think he has a live chance, I wouldn't send him over otherwise.
"He did what we expected him to do at Christmas and it was always the plan to wait with him until Cheltenham then.
"I've been waiting for a bit of better ground for him."
