Arsenal v Tottenham preview

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is doubtful for Saturday's FA Cup third-round

tie against Tottenham following illness and an ankle problem.

German playmaker Mesut Ozil faces a fitness test on his shoulder injury, but

forward Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) is definitely out, along with defender Kieran

Gibbs (calf) and midfielder Aaron Ramsey (thigh).

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is close to returning to training from his knee injury,

while Yaya Sanogo (back) and Abou Diaby (knee) continue their rehabilitation.

Tottenham are hopeful that Emmanuel Adebayor will be fit to face former club Arsenal despite being stretchered off in the win over Manchester United on New Year's Day.

The injury is not thought to be serious and Adebayor is expected to shake it off to start alongside Roberto Soldado in attack.

Tim Sherwood is still missing a number of players through injury with Paulinho (ankle), Sandro (calf), Andros Townsend (hamstring), Jan Vertonghen (ankle) and Younes Kaboul (ankle) all on the sidelines.

Sherwood has no other injury concerns to deal with and is expected to stick with the side that won at Old Trafford.
