Aru takes stage 15

Italy's Fabio Aru won stage 15 of the Giro d'Italia as overall leader Rigoberto Uran extended his overall advantage.

Aru won by 21 seconds from Colombian Fabio Duarte over the 225 kilometre race from Valdengo which finished with an ascent into the ski resort of Montecampione after going striking out on his own.

Uran retained the race lead and is now 63 seconds ahead of Cadel Evans, with Poland's Rafal Majka third almost two minutes adrift and Aru now fourth, two minutes 24 seconds behind.

Monday is the race's third and final rest day ahead of the last six stages.
