Ashdown almost ready to return

Leeds goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown returns to action for the first time since the end of last season on Tuesday.

The former Portsmouth goalkeeper, who has played no part for Brian McDermott's side this term due to a foot injury, will make his comeback for the development squad against Sheffield United.

Ashdown, 32, signed by former manager Neil Warnock as back-up for Paddy Kenny in July 2012, made eight appearances for the club last season and is out of contract in the summer.
