Ashton blow for Stevenage

Stevenage defender Jon Ashton has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The 30-year-old centre-half suffered a ruptured Achilles in training late last week and will need an operation.

The news comes as a bitter blow as Ashton, who has been with Boro since 2009, was on the comeback trail following a previous Achilles injury.

Ashton's last appearance was a 2-2 draw against Bury in September.
