Aussie women set up England final

Australia will meet England in the final of the women's World Twenty20 after beating West Indies by 28 runs in Colombo on Friday.

With England's place in Sunday's final already assured, Australia booked a reunion with the old enemy by dismissing West Indies for just 87 after they had posted 115-7.

Batting first, Lisa Sthalekar top scored for Australia with 23 from 25 balls, sharing a 32-run stand with Alex Blackwell (21 off 25) after the Southern Stars had slumped to 36-3.

Shanel Daley (2-23) gave the Windies the perfect start by removing Alyssa Healy, niece of former Australia Test wicketkeeper Ian, clean bowled two balls into the innings and followed that up with the wicket of Jess Cameron (11).

But Sthalekar and Blackwell put the Aussies back on track before a late salvo from wicketkeeper Jodie Fields (19no) saw the team up to a challenging 115-7 from 20 overs.

Pace bowler Ellyse Perry had a hand in three of the first four Windies' wickets to fall as the women from the Caribbean slumped to 28-4.

After bowling Stafanie Taylor (3) and Deandra Dottin (6), Perry then showed great agility to touch the ball back on to the stumps with Shemaine Campbelle run out at the non-striker's end.

West Indies required something special to turn the match around and despite the efforts of Juliana Nero (31) and Shanel Daley (25), Australia closed out the game with ease.

Medium pacer Julie Hunter (5-22) was the pick of Australia's bowling attack, for whom Perry (2-19) and Sthalekar (0-6) also starred.
