Austin pens new deal

Hartlepool defender Neil Austin has extended his five-year spell with the club by signing a new contract.

The 31-year-old has become a part of the furniture at Victoria Park since arriving from north east neighbours Darlington in 2009, making nearly 200 appearances for Pools.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract; it's nice to get pen to paper and I'm already looking forward to coming back," Austin told Hartlepool's official website.

"It doesn't seem like two minutes since I signed for the club and I wasn't sure I would be here for five years so I'm buzzing now and I just want to get flying now in time for pre-season."
