AVB backs Spurs to bounce back

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has backed his players to get back to winning ways when Swansea come to White Hart Lane this weekend.

Spurs suffered a last-gasp defeat at Everton on Sunday but now have successive home games to make amends in, with Stoke following Swansea to north London.

Tottenham face the latter boosted by only their second clear midweek since October 20 - the last one seeing a number of players go away on international duty - and Villas-Boas believes it will help them get back on track.

"We now have a week to prepare and that's important for us because we haven't stopped for a month or so," the Portuguese told the club's official website. "Finally, we have a breather.

"The players can recover and I think you will see us at another level in these next two home games. We have to make the most of it."

He added: "We've showed good signs of ability to bounce back from adversity and I think we'll do it one more time."
