Ayr gets go-ahead

Friday afternoon's National Hunt meeting at Ayr goes ahead as planned after the track passed a morning inspection.

Officials at the venue had planned to inspect at 7.30am but then announced they had pushed the check back by an hour.

However, they were able to give the go-ahead slightly earlier than expected with the going is reported to be heavy after 26 millimetres of rain in the last 24 hours.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley tweeted: "Racing goes ahead, dry now and set fair for today. Omitted obstacles: hurdle one and fence seven."
