Ball injury blow for Notts
Nottinghamshire's Twenty20 plans have been dealt a blow with the loss of bowler Jake Ball, who has broken a bone in his foot.
The 22-year-old pulled up during the first innings of Notts' LV= County Championship match against Somerset and has now been ruled out for six weeks.
While Ball has been trying to establish himself in Nottinghamshire's four-day team, he has been a key part of their limited overs plans and leaves a gap in the attack ahead of the NatWest T20 Blast.
"Losing Jake at this stage of the season is going to leave a hole in our Twenty20 plans because he would have featured heavily," said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
"I'm disappointed for him and I've got some planning to do to mitigate his absence."
Peter Siddle is not contracted to play in the competition, meaning Newell may need to consider another signing.
