Ballycasey stars in Powers four

Only four runners will go to post for the Grade One Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

From a handful of options Willie Mullins has settled on Ballycasey, fourth in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham, and Mozoltov, a faller in the JLT at Cheltenham but a winner since.

Ballycasey was strongly fancied for the Festival but appeared to falter up the hill so may be better off over this trip of two and a half miles.

The Mullins pair will not have it between themselves, however.

Dessie Hughes' Bright New Dawn, in the same Gigginstown House Stud colours as Mozoltov, has got his act together of late, winning his last two at Navan and Naas.

And the popular Rebel Fitz for Michael Winters faces his biggest test over fences.

Winner of five of his seven starts over the larger obstacles, the nine-year-old will be ridden by Barry Geraghty.
