Barker heading to Mexico

Five British riders, including Elinor Barker, will take part in the final Track World Cup meeting of the season in Mexico later this month.

There will be no Great Britain team in Aguascalientes from January 17 to 19, with Barker and her fellow British Cycling Olympic academy programme riders Amy Roberts and George Atkins representing Welsh Cycling trade outfit Team USN.

Jon Mould and Ciara Horne complete the team for the final meeting before February's Track Cycling World Championships in Minsk.

Barker won team pursuit gold with Great Britain at November's Glasgow Track World Cup alongside Olympic champions Laura Trott and Dani King, and combined with Roberts and Horne to take silver in the same event with the Welsh team at the first World Cup meeting of the season in Cali, Colombia.
