Barker stands by Carson
Richie Barker defended goalkeeper Trevor Carson after his error denied Portsmouth a win as they drew 2-2 with Morecambe.
It was a mixed afternoon for the Irish keeper who was Pompey's hero in the first half when he saved Padraig Amond's 39th minute penalty before allowing a late Jack Redshaw shot to slip through his grasp to earn the home side a third successive draw.
"It was definitely an afternoon of contrast for Trevor," Barker admitted.
"He made a great penalty save in the first half which changed the game in our favour and then he made the mistake for their second goal which gave them a goal that I couldn't see coming. If he had to make that save 100 times I bet he would do it but it was just one of those things and we have to move on.'
"It was disappointing not to get the full three points because they didn't put us under that much pressure but when you score two away from home you like to think that you will get three points but there are a lot of positives that we can take from the game.
"Jake Jervis scored two and looked sharp and we played some decent stuff in terrible conditions."
