Bartley makes Turf Moor exit

Burnley midfielder Marvin Bartley has decided to leave Turf Moor with six months remaining on his contract.

Bartley joined the Clarets from Bournemouth in January 2011 on a three-and-a-half-year deal, when he was signed by former Cherries boss Eddie Howe.

The 27-year-old has been on loan at League Once club Leyton Orient this season, where he has scored twice in 19 games.

"Burnley Football Club has terminated their contract with midfielder Marvin Bartley by mutual consent," a statement from Burnley FC read.

"Marvin, who made a total of 72 appearances for the Clarets, would like to take this opportunity to thank the fans for all their support during his time playing for Burnley Football Club and wish the club the best for the remainder of the Championship season.

"The club equally wishes to thank Marvin for his contribution and wish him all the very best for the future."
